Instructions on using the Datataker Weather Station

HTML

To view the HTML version of the weather station, there is no need to install the LabVIEW™ Run-time Engine.
The images contained within the HTML files are updated by the weather station program once a day.

View the HTML pages of the Datataker Weather Station, updated daily.

Using the Datataker Weather Station

To use the Datataker weather station, you need to install the LabVIEW™ Run-time Engine Version 7.1.1 for Windows 2000/NT/XP
This can be installed from the National Instruments website.

Remote Panels

Please note: The supported web browsers are, Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Mozilla.
Please use the latest version of these browsers.

NOTE : The number of users, is controlled by the LabVIEW™ Remote Panel Connection Manager. Our license allows 5 people to view the weather station, and one of those people to control it. So when you have finished looking at the weather station, release control, giving access to others.

To interact with the LabVIEW™ remote panel, you will need to right mouse click on the image, and select "Request Control of VI"
As shown in the following image.

If control is requested of the remote panel, while another user has control, the control will time out in 5 minutes, allowing the next user to have control.

To release control, right click on the image, and select "Remote Panel Client>Release Control of VI"

Firefox

There is no direct support for the Firefox browser. However, there is a work around, if you have mozilla installed.

After installing the LabVIEW™ run time, there will be an additional file installed in your mozilla plugins directory.
C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\plugins\
The file is NPLV71Win32.dll

Copy this file and place it in your firefox plugins directory.
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\

After restarting firefox, you should be able to run the Datataker Weather Station from your firefox browser.
