Sensor setup

A range of sensors were selected to demonstrate a typical Automatic Weather Station application. The DT800 scales the raw sensor signals to the appropriate engineering units for data return and logging.

Wind Speed and Wind Direction
Wind speed sensor generates a 4-20mA signal for 0 to 184km/h winds.
Wind direction generates a 4-20mA signal for 0 to 360 degrees.

Barometric Pressure
The PTB100A Vaisala pressure sensor generates a 0-5 VDC signal for 800 to 1060hPa.

Humidity and Temperature
The temperature and humidity probe generates a 0 to 1 VDC signal for 0 to 100%RH.
The temperature is measured with a PT100, platinum Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD).

Solar Radiation
The solar radiation sensor utilizes a Kipp & Zonen Silicon pyranometer.
The sensitivity of the sensor is 100uV/W/m2.

Rain Guage
The tipping bucket rain gauge has a normally open reed switch, which closes for every 0.2mm of rain.

DC Current Input Isolator
The current isolator measures -10Adc to +10Adc, generating a 0 to 10Vdc signal.

Inside Temperature
The temperature is measured with a PT100, platinum RTD.
